SOYL to launch new App at Cereals

SOYL is launching the iSOYLscout at Cereals. This is a new app which runs on an iPad or iPhone and allows growers to map observations in their fields.  A grower might want to record weeds, some game cover, a buffer strip or a problem area while they are on the go, out in the field. The app allows the user to note the area of a feature there and then as well as recording details including a photo, useful for showing to the agronomist or other people working on the farm. The iSOYLscout uploads these details to SOYL’s grower portal mySOYL. The data can then be accessed by anyone the grower has given permission to, for example, their agronomist.

SOYL commercial director, Simon Parrington explains: “Our stand has taken a range of shapes and sizes over the years but the one aspect that’s been constant is innovation, we’ve always got something new to show farmers and this year it’s iSOYLscout.

“Over the winter we demonstrated early versions of iSOYLscout to growers attending our SOYL academy events around the UK. The response was positive and farmers seem to like technology that allows them to transfer information between the field and the office efficiently.

Cereals event takes place on 15th & 16th June 2016, at Chrishall Grange, near Duxford, Cambridgeshire.  Meet the SOYL team on stand 314.
