A new farm management platform is being introduced to help farmers and contractors manage machinery, field operations and data from mixed-brand fleets through a single system.
PTx FarmENGAGE, developed by AGCO’s digital solutions business PTx, connects Massey Ferguson machinery with other equipment and farm management systems, allowing users to plan, monitor and record field operations from one platform.
The system will be fitted to the new Massey Ferguson 7S Mark 2, while some existing Massey Ferguson machines will be eligible for a retrofit option.
The platform is designed to provide a real-time view of machinery and work locations, allowing operators to monitor machine status, track task progress and record field operations from anywhere with an internet connection.
Tasks can be prepared in advance from the farm office, including details of the machine and implement, field boundaries and gateways, working strategies and variable-rate application or seeding plans.
Data can then be transferred automatically between the office and compatible tractor terminals, removing the need to return machines to the yard to manually transfer files.
Managing field data
The system also centralises operational data, allowing farmers to build a record of field activity that can be used for performance analysis, compliance and future planning.
Soil and yield maps can be imported alongside other data sources to create targeted operations such as variable-rate seeding and applications.
Plans can also be amended while work is underway, allowing operators to respond to changing weather or field conditions.
The system is intended to make it easier for several users to work from the same information, with changes and task data automatically shared between users connected to the same FarmENGAGE system.
The platform also supports mixed fleets. PTx FarmENGAGE can connect to Massey Ferguson terminals as well as machines of other brands equipped with PTx Trimble GFX displays.
Compatibility with John Deere Operations Centre is also available, allowing data to be shared when farmers operate new Massey Ferguson tractors alongside existing John Deere machinery.
API connectivity provides further integration with other farm management systems, giving operators the option of incorporating the platform into existing digital workflows rather than replacing them.
