Bio-Nutrition for grazing grass and maize

Andrew Fisher, an independent agronomist in North Yorkshire has used Tricet Pro-Fortis on grazing grass and on maize. He reports that trials on grass show a large increase in sugars (48%), coupled with an increase in Dry Matter (34%) as well as a significant increase in dietary minerals in the treated plots. Sodium optimised palatability of the grass and levels increased by 17.9% over the untreated. Copper levels increased by 10.13%, Zinc by +53%, Cobalt by a massive + 167 %., Selenium by + 33%. This mineral is required for normal growth and fertility plus helping to prevent disorders such as mastitis and scour. All these elements are essential for healthy livestock, enable faster growth rates and earlier finishing, he says.

Andrew continues to explain how Tricet Pro-Fortis treated grass helps in the production of silage. An increased Dry Matter of 43.38% produces a much higher yield and therefore dilutes the Crude Protein. The sugar content is up (+36.45%) which will improve palatability and therefore intake and increased buffering capacity (+9.67%) will maintain rumen health. A good set of results overall, he concludes

Moving onto the benefits of Tricet Pro-Fortis to maize (for AD and Forage). Andrew says that in an AD maize trial at an AHDB farm at Newark, Tricet Pro-Fortis gave a 1.3 tonnes/ha yield increase (+12.32% DM) with the same D value plus an increase in the starch level (91,16%) and a massive increase in By-Pass Starch (+263.64%), which is equally advantageous for AD usage or forage for dairy cows.

The wealth of knowledge and in-field experience of the Tricet team allows invaluable support to be given to users, with the aim of producing sustainable and profitable farming. Richard Womersley, Northern Regional Manager for Tricet UK says “it is time to invest in our soils to bring them back to the living, breathing eco-systems that they should be. When this has been achieved, we will be more able to manage the challenge to produce more food, with less fertiliser and less chemical inputs, working with environmentally friendly systems and moving towards “net zero.”

Tricet Pro-Fortis provides strength, resilience, and protection for better, cleaner standing crops. It can be used on all plants to stimulate growth, alleviate stress and to protect against diseases and pests. It is a unique formulation of micronized mono-silicic acid, calcium, magnesium, iron, boron and fulvic acid. This boosts photosynthesis and chlorophyll content in the leaf, increasing the efficiency of assimilation of phosphate and potash in the plant. Tricet Pro-Fortis internally strengthens cell walls, increasing transportation of water and uptake of minerals from the soil. This facilitates faster growth rates and provides stability to the plant. The leaf surface is coated with a barrier of minute, rock-hard crystals discouraging pests and disease, while combatting abiotic and biotic stress and decreased water loss. Its use allows the plant to reach its full potential.

Tricet Pro-Fortis is applied at 1.5 -2 l/ha to plant foliage or 2.5 to 5 l/ha to the soil in a minimum of 50 litres of water. Foliar applied products perform best when applied early morning or late evening.
