JTS machinery, based near Newmarket, Suffolk, showed its Maverick Mid-Till 400 cultivator in public for the first time.

Founder Jim Tarry harnessed experience from 40 years working on farms to design the machine, which uses a combination of tines and discs to achieve a thorough soil and trash mixing operation.

The implement is designed to work to between 12.5cm and 25cm.

Two styles of tine are used, with McConnell low-draft tines with a 100mm point on the front gang, and straight tines with a 60mm tungsten point running just ahead of the discs.

The legs are followed by two rows of 660mm discs which work down the soil. It is offered without a rear roller so it leaves an open surface that can be left to weather and dry out if required
