- Visitors to KUHN’s Tillage-Live stand later this month will see the latest updates to the Multi-Leader XT plough range alongside cultivators and drills aimed to increase versatility and minimise passes through additional seeding options
The Multi-Leader XT was recently updated to include KUHN’s tilt correction system, that aligns the working angle of the plough to maximise the available tractor power, helping to reduce fuel use and implement wear. A new Z-beam allows a streamlined design to accommodate a single 1,200mm x 500mm wheel.
Edd Fanshawe, KUHN’s arable product specialist, says: “The plough is still a vital tool for many farms and we are seeing some growers who previously turned away from ploughing now using one in a targeted way. The latest additions to the Multi-Leader XT allow operators to achieve the greatest efficiency from ploughing.”
Also working at the event will be a Performer 4000, with optional SH 600 seeding unit, and a Prolander 6000 with a distribution head. These highlight the versatility of KUHN’s cultivator range by completing two jobs in one pass, helping to save time and cost.
Edd continues: “The optional seeding units have been commanding a lot of interest recently, with many growers entering Sustainable Farming Incentive agreements and requiring a cost-effective way to establish cover crops and other environmental areas. The SH 600 seeding unit is designed to offer a one pass establishment for these operations.
“The distribution head on the Prolander also highlights its versatility when combined with a front tank, such as the TF 1512. Many growers will leave drilling later and the Prolander offers a shallow stubble cultivator with the option to sow a crop at the same time.”
KUHN will also have a Striger 600, Optimer 6000, Espro drill, the mounted Aero 32.1 boom fertiliser applicator and a HR3020 and Venta 303-20 combination drill on display at the working event at Headley Hall, Tadcaster on Wednesday 18 September 2024.
