Precision Drill Offers Performance and Flexibility

0

Sky Agriculture takes a new step forward in its commitment to high-performance and sustainable farming with the launch of Sonic, a next-generation precision planter designed to meet the highest demands of precision seeding.

Unmatched planting precision, even at high speed

Equipped with Precision Planting distribution technology, Sonic ensures seed placement accuracy above 99%, even at speeds exceeding 12 km/h. Its finely tuned vacuum system guarantees optimal seed positioning without bounce or projection, including with the lightest crops such as oilseed rape, sunflower, or sugar beet.

The press wheel, retractable depending on conditions (particularly in wet soils), offers additional operational flexibility.

Thanks to hydraulic downforce of up to 350 kg per row unit, stability and penetration are ensured even in the most challenging conditions. An optional load transfer system from the tractor further enhances efficiency across all soil types.

A versatile drill

With Sonic, it is the planter that adapts to your crops, not the other way around. Featuring exclusive RowMotion technology, it allows row spacing to be modified directly in the field.

Planting maize at 75 cm in the morning and soybeans at 50 cm in the afternoon becomes a simple task—without disassembling any row units. This flexibility paves the way for tailored cropping strategies and diverse rotations, supporting more resilient farming systems.

Another innovation: the reduced angle of the double discs (9° compared to the usual 12°) minimizes soil disturbance, helping to limit weed emergence and preserve spring soil moisture—two key levers to support the agroecological transition.

The drill is equipped with a high level of standard equipment:

  • Floating rotary residue managers on parallelogram
  • Turbo discs for direct seeding
  • Dual-distribution micro applicators (ideal for companion cropping)
  • Full ISOBUS compatibility (section control, variable rate, joystick)
  • Six types of closing wheels to choose from, ensuring optimal adjustment for every soil type

A complete range from 6 to 12 rows

Available in telescopic versions (6 to 9 rows) and folding versions (8 to 12 rows), The drill integrates RowMotion technology as standard. Certain row units can also be hydraulically lifted, allowing planting with only a partial number of rows.

Fertiliser options

The drill can be equipped with several fertiliser options:

  • An integrated hopper within the planter
  • SKY Agriculture’s new Progress TF front hopper
  • The trailed Maxidrill, whose chassis allows the cereal seeding toolbar to be detached and replaced with a Sonic quickly and easily
