It is well recognised that there is a shortage of young talent coming into the agricultural machinery service industry and dealerships throughout the country are all having difficulty recruiting additional staff into their service teams.
To try and raise awareness of the opportunities available within this high-tech industry, CLAAS launched its ‘Engineer your Career’ campaign at this year’s LAMMA Show and since then has been busy attending careers events throughout the UK and Ireland.
The latest element of the campaign has been the creation of a new short video for circulation throughout all forms of social media. The video profiles CLAAS service engineers at all levels of their career, from apprentice technicians through to service managers, giving an oversight of their job, what it involves and the satisfaction they gain from their role, with the aim of informing potential recruits to the industry as a whole of the opportunities there are.
“Many people fail to appreciate that agriculture is an exciting industry, with machinery that uses state-of-the-art technology on a par with aerospace and other cutting-edge industries,” says Trevor Tyrrell, CEO of CLAAS UK. “It’s an industry that has embraced the internet, satellite technology and computers like no other, as we continue to develop machinery that will help farmers feed an ever growing population.”
The new ‘Engineer your Career’ video can be viewed via the CLAAS UK Facebook page or via the official YourCLAAS Youtube channel
