New tool tests knowledge of cabbage stem flea beetle

A new online tool from AHDB Cereals & Oilseeds allows people to test their knowledge of the risk factors associated with cabbage stem flea beetle (CSFB) in winter oilseed rape (WOSR).

A good understanding of what influences risk is essential for the field-by-field management approaches required in a world where neonicotinoid insecticides continue to be restricted.
In July, following a review of the evidence, the UK Government decided not to grant Emergency Authorisation for the use of neonicotinoid seed treatments on WOSR this autumn.

The test features nine risk-related questions on flea beetle life cycle, conditions which promote beetle activity and crop damage, as well questions on biological and chemical control.

After passing the short multiple choice test, the correct answers are revealed and further information on CSFB is provided.
