Tyre Company Strengthens UK Agricultural Supply Chain Through Partnership

Bridgestone has strengthened its route to market for agricultural tyres in the UK through a new strategic partnership with Kirkby Tyres, aimed at improving product availability, delivery speed and support for farmers, contractors and machinery dealers.

Under the agreement, Kirkby Tyres will stock and distribute the full Bridgestone and Firestone agricultural tyre ranges nationwide. Operating from a 20-acre logistics hub in Liverpool, with more than 500,000 sq ft of covered warehousing, the wholesaler offers next-day delivery across the UK with no minimum order quantities — a key advantage during busy seasonal periods when machinery downtime must be minimised.

The partnership is intended to simplify access to premium agricultural tyres while ensuring consistent supply throughout the year. For arable and mixed farms, tyre choice plays an increasingly important role in managing soil compaction, traction efficiency and fuel use, particularly as machinery weights continue to rise.

Kirkby Tyres brings more than 60 years’ experience in tyre and wheel distribution and was named the UK’s number one tyre wholesaler by the National Tyre Distributors Association in 2025. Its logistics capability and sector knowledge are expected to support both dealers and end users with faster response times and reliable stock availability.

David Almazan, head of UK region and commercial business unit director at Bridgestone, said the partnership focuses on delivering practical benefits for customers by ensuring tyres are available when and where they are needed, supported by specialist knowledge of agricultural operating conditions.

The range stocked by Kirkby Tyres includes Bridgestone’s VT-TRACTOR, VX-TRACTOR, VX-R TRACTOR and VH-IND tyres, alongside the Firestone agricultural portfolio. The VT-TRACTOR features very high flexion (VF) technology, allowing operation at lower pressures to increase footprint area and reduce soil compaction while maintaining load capacity. The VX-TRACTOR is designed for durability and long service life, while the VX-R TRACTOR offers a wide tread profile aimed at improving stability and consistency across mixed field and road conditions.

Michael Rosenthal, commercial director at Kirkby Tyres, said the partnership enables the business to offer a complete premium agricultural tyre portfolio while helping farmers and contractors reduce downtime during critical working windows.

By combining tyre technology focused on soil protection and efficiency with a high-capacity distribution network, the partnership aims to support modern farming systems where timeliness, machine performance and soil health are increasingly interconnected.
